Where, when, and how information may be obtained
A request for information may be made in writing, orally, by fax, by electronic mail, or by any other technically workable means (§ 14(1) of Act No. 211/2000 Coll.). A written request may be sent to the school’s registered seat, which is amongst the identifying data above.
Not published yet Office hours, a telephone number, and an electronic address for requests will follow.
Where, within what period, and how an appeal is lodged
An appeal against a decision of the school refusing the information requested may be lodged within 15 days of the decision being served, or of the period for deciding the request expiring without a decision. The appeal is lodged with the school that issued the decision or ought to have issued it. The school’s superior body decides the appeal within 15 days of receiving it. A decision refusing a request is open to review by a court (§ 19 of Act No. 211/2000 Coll.).
The procedure for handling requests for information
A request must make plain which obliged person it is addressed to, who is making it, what information it concerns, and how the applicant proposes the information should be supplied. The school deals with a request within eight working days of the day it was made. On serious grounds it may extend that period by at most a further eight working days, and it must give the applicant its reasons without delay. Where the school does not grant a request, even in part, it issues a written decision (§§ 14, 17, and 18 of Act No. 211/2000 Coll.).
